March 12-14, 2019 – NSRP 2019 All Panel Meeting

We will be attending the NSRP 2019 All Panel Meeting!

About the Event

The All Panel Meeting is a biennial event that brings together all ten panels of the National Shipbuilding Research Program to share results of recently concluded and ongoing R&D projects; discuss technology gaps in the areas of ship design, construction, and modernization; and to share best practices in the ship building and support enterprise. This event serves a critical role for the shipbuilding industry and Navy by providing a public forum for industry-wide networking, technology transfer, and broad interest discussions. The 2017 All Panel Meeting was attended by over 375 people from industry and Navy, and included presentations on over 35 NSRP and ManTech projects.

+ ManTech: Ice Detector System for the CH-53 helicopter
Aircraft icing is an urgent concern for helicopters and airplanes in both the military and civilian sectors. In-flight icing on aircraft surfaces has caused more than a thousand fatalities in the past few decades. The original ice detector system developed for the U. S. Navy required a hazardous radioactive component. At ACI, we are currently designing, testing, and transitioning new sensor technology which will be much more accurate, reliable, and contain no radioactive elements. This new system will not only save thousands dollars, but much more importantly, thousands of lives. Stay tuned!
